The New Photographer

Something I neglected to mention about yesterday's wedding:

The wedding photographer used digital cameras. She had two of them, an 8 megapixel camera and a 12 megapixel camera, although she used the 8mp camera more because she likes the camera better. She had a dozen one-gigabyte flash cards on her, plus a portable hard drive she can dump the flash cards into.

She figures she took about two to three thousand shots during the wedding and reception. This is the new photographer.

Hey Dave! Haven't been round in a few days. "Crunchy with ketchup" from below, good one. I'm just trying to catch up today...I agree with your thoughts on marriage. We'll be married 7 years on November 1st and I don't know if it's luck or what but having been in a bad marriage, a terrible marriage, a hideously horrible marriage, I can so appreciate the calmness and easiness of a good one. I agree it takes one. The one you become and there's always one that has to do alittle more. Which one is irrevelant and it changes from time to time but it seems that one (or the other) has to be at - at least 150%. So, even when there's two, it takes one. Some days it's my days to be the one giving, doing, providing, understanding more, other days he's the one. Every once in a while nobody wants to be the "one" and we both want to be the "other one" at the same time and then sure, conflict. But it doesn't take long to remember, do you want to be right (or fair) or do you want to be happy!? I'll take happy thank you very much. Oh, the joy of being in a working, easy, happy marriage. No one could appreciate it more than I do.

The times I've most felt the need for switching is in child-raising. Some days after you've worn to a frazzle and you know the next crisis is going to get ugly, it's so nice to be able to throw up your hands and say, "Your turn!" and know that it's okay because last time, it was my turn.

You know what they say. Film is cheap. I wouldn't want to be the one sifting through the photos to make the album on that one. You'd be there for a week.
