Recursive Zooming
I came across two web sites this week that were rather interesting, and had a degree of commonality to each other.
Zoom is an interactive Flash animation that lets you zoom in on a piece of fantasy art as far as you wish.
Recursive is another Flash animation in a similar vein, but not interactive and more like what M.C. Escher would do if he'd gotten into photography and Flash animation instead of wood-block prints. Don't go there if you're prone to queasiness.
The first one is my favorite of the two.

Great sites, both worthy of bookmarking. Zoom - yes I need another excuse to spend more time at my computer!! NOT. Also found there some other interesting and fun things on that site including puzzles. I do at least a puzzle a day on the computer. I have a program that takes any picture and makes a puzzle of it so I usually get pictures of old travel posters and use them as puzzles. Always happy to find an online puzzle of the day I can do quickly before work to sharpen the mind.
THe Resursive site is kewl but I especially liked the MC Escher site your linked to. I taught an art class on him once and found that site particularly interesting and one I hadn't seen before. Thanks, you always pass on the most interesting links!
Escher is one of my favorite artists. Some art aims to please aesthetically, some aims to move you, Escher's makes you think. It's philosophical.
If you like making puzzles (jigsaw, concentration or sliding tile?) from art, have you been to Webshots? They post free photos daily.
