Blogger's Shoebox
Everybody has a shoebox, a catch-all where you dump things you don't want to deal with just this minute. Maybe for you it's a drawer by the front door, or an inbox on your desk, or a corner of some dresser or table. Everybody's got one. I think Blogger has one.
When someone leaves a comment on this blog, Blogger is supposed to send an email to let me know. Then I get to belt out a "woo-hoo!" and dash over to my blog to see what it says. This morning, my computer emitted its "Mail's in!" sound ("Thank you, Thing"), and when I clicked the icon there were like a half-dozen emails saying I had a new comment in the blog!
Sure enough, my blog did have new comments. But they weren't exactly new. That is, they weren't all dated today. There were comments from yesterday, there were comments from the day before. They just hadn't shown up until today.
I guess the Blogger server got tired of tripping over its shoebox and sat down to actually dispatch all the happy little missives within. Woo-hoo!

Blogger never lets me know when I have received a comment. Did you do something special to get emails?
From the Blogger Dashboard, click Change Settings, then the Comments sub-tab, then enter your email address in the Comment Notification Address field, then click Save Settings.
That will increase your chances of getting email when a comment is entered. :)
Thanks. I set it up, so now I'm just waiting for a comment to test it. :)
