Your Wayward Foot

This appeared today on a local blog and I loved it. Throughout my life I've collected little tricks like this, and this is the first time I've seen this particular one. Try it yourself, then try it on a friend...

Here are the steps:

  1. In a sitting position, lift your right foot off the floor and, then, make clockwise circles with it.

  2. While making circles, draw the number 6 in the air with your right hand.

  3. Your foot will change directions and there is nothing you can do about it.

The first few times I tried it, my foot involuntarily changed directions, but now I can do it. I can also pat my head and rub my stomach. Aren't I gifted? :)

Huh. Didn't even slow me down.

Tried it with my other side and both combinations, too, as I started out lefty before an unfortunate tricycle accident hindered my dexterity on that side, and no weirdness there, either.

I can't do it. My foot always changes direction. Of course, I can't walk and chew gum either. I can however, pat my stomach and rub my head.
