Holiday Mail for Heroes

From the eMusings mailbag (edited):

GREAT IDEA!

I thought this was a nice thing to do so I'm passing it along...

When doing your holiday cards this year, take one card and send it to the address below. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.

When you are making out your holiday card list this year, please send one (or more) here:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

If you approve, please pass it on. See the American Red Cross web page for details and guidelines to ensure your card is received.

If you're curious about the validity of this request (I'm always skeptical), you can learn more about it here: Holiday Mail for Heroes. (Snopes is a good place to check for any rumor that you eye skeptically.) - Dave

On behalf of my colleagues at Pitney Bowes and the American Red Cross, thank you for all of your support in helping to spread the word about the “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program.

We would like you to know that we’ve not only reached the goal of delivering one million cards to US service members, veterans and military families, but we surpassed it! And it’s all because people like you and your blog readers who got involved. View the following video for more details and a personal message of thanks from all of us: http://blip.tv/file/1643672/.

We could not have done it without you.
