Tagging Blog Posts
I love the way you can search for items by tags on Flickr and other web sites, so I'm going to be adding tags to all of my posts and I'll come up with a way to search for them.
I'm not sure yet what tags I'll end up with, but at this point I'm thinking of at least the following: News, Opinion, Announcements, Reviews, Images, Humor, Amusements, Links and Chatter.

Seriously, this is a good idea although it sounds like it is going to be a challenge deciding how to categorize some of the stories. Some posts may need multiple tags, such as news stories that are also humorous.
I'm using multiple tags in many cases. My goal is to have a half dozen or so main categories into which all the posts can be sorted, augmented with miscellaneous other tags to aid in searches. You'll see something like, Blog Tag: Images, Blog Tag: San Francisco in posts. I use "Blog Tag" instead of just "Tag" so that when I google it won't return just any post in which I mention the word "tag" but will return only those posts with the explicit phrase "Blog Tag".
If I had used the syntax "Blog Tag: Images, San Francisco" then I wouldn't be able to search using the phrase "Blog Tag: San Francisco", so that's why I repeat the tag before each category.
I don't have the patience to be OCD. ;)
