I can't stand Verizon. Their customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with.
One of their reps told me once that cell phones were a convenience, not a necessity, upon telling me that my payment arrived 2 days late... you know.. just in time for my trip, where they shut off my phone service.
Cell phones when travelling with kids is a necessity, in my book.
Some people (a lot, I guess), don't even have landlines any more. You can't tell me they consider cell phones a convenience. I wonder how that rep would feel if all their customers using cellphones as a "convenience" were to give them up.
A friend of mine just told me that someone she knows high up at Cingular said that this summer, maybe June or July, Cingular would require all of its acquired AT&T customers to purchase a new Cingular phone. I don't know if that's true or not, but if so it's sure to cause a ruckus.
I'm on Cingular myself, and I can't believe how hard it is to find information on their web site, if it's there at all, and their telephone support is maddening. Worst of all... I hardly get any signal at all at home. Still waiting for "more signal in more places", guys.
