The Taxi Cat

From the eMusings mailbag:

A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening. They put the cat outside, turned on the porch light, and covered the parakeet.

When the taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door, the cat ran back into the house. They didn't want the cat inside because she always tried to eat the bird, so the wife went out to the taxi while the husband went back inside to get the cat, who had run upstairs.

The wife didn't want the driver to know the house would be empty, so she explained that her husband would be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother," she told him.

A few minutes later, the husband finally arrived. "Sorry I took so long," he said, as they drove away. "Stupid thing was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. Her tail kept coming out, but I held on, got her downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"

The cab driver hit a parked car.

Isn't that how everyone treats their mother-in-law? :)

LMAO. Very, very funny. Especially being a owner of 3 cats who seem to hide every time we're about to leave. :-) They're indoor cats, but we like to know where they are because a few times they've been locked inside of a closet all day. And even though it's their own fault, they yell/meow at us when we come home and let them out.
