Busy, Busy, Busy

What is Goodman up to? Work deadlines. Holiday shopping. Closing escrow on the sale of his house and packing. Closing escrow on the purchase of a new house and getting all the utilities and insurance and whatnot in place. Blogging... not so much. sigh

There've been so many web pages that I wanted to blog about, and just didn't get around to it. So today, for your Friday browsing pleasure, I present to you a veritable plethora of pages to peruse. This should hold you awhile...

Banner Break - Free banner maker you can use for your blog or web page.

TSA Allows Sharp Objects - Finally, you can take sharp objects on planes. Now, can I get back the pocketknives and fingernail clippers they confiscated?

Deborah Davis - This poor woman was arrested for not presenting her ID. Has America turned into Nazi Germany?

TinyApps.org - Lots of free little programs. 'Nuff said.

Fly - An animated jigsaw puzzle. Way cool. (Thanks, Candy!)

Sky - After Fly, what else but Sky? This lets you fly through the clouds. Navigate left/right by moving the mouse. Change speed/direction by clicking in different spots. May require aspirin.

Orisinal Games - Lots of cool little games. The top left one, Bugs, is new.

Bulletins as they break...

It's my responsiblity, for my company, to diligently check passengers and crew against the TSA No Fly List. The list is created from an Excel Spreadsheet. Secure right? No one would ever be able to hack into that right? Some day's they just don't put up a new one. Over Thanksgiving weekend the list was never updated. I guess the guy who does it took the weekend off. On private aircraft charters we have to check both pax and crew names every 24 hours - so, if it's a three day trip I have to run all the crew names every 24-hours in case the pilot joins Al-Kahid in the middle of the night I guess) Anyway, this list, this Excel document, is commonly emailed from person to person and passwords are often shared....basically, it's a joke. There fact is, there is no security to begin with. That's the big secret.

That's what's so irritating about the "security checkpoints" to me. They're all about appearances, to make passengers and voters feel better because "something's being done about it."

Any terrorist with half a brain could bypass just about any obstacle put in their way.

It's like gun control. It only keeps the guns out of the hands of honest people. Criminals can still get them.

Great to see you blogging and commenting again, Terri! :)

The piece on Deborah Davis raised my hackles (although I'm not sure what hackles are). It's been an eternity since I went to law school and maybe the law has changed, but I thought that there has to be probable cause before the government can demand that someone show ID. What the security guard was doing was nothing but a fishing expedition. What's next, house to house searches?

OMG, so much to click on!

Congrats on the sale and buy and I wish you all the best as you get ready to move. You know I can relate!

I'm really just popping in here with a little gift for you and your readers.
I know you like Nickel Creek - here's their cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic", live from the House of Blues in Cleveland. Um, I'm thinking you may not have this already but if you do I'll think your super cool and slightly strange. (Even though I think that already. ;) The song is really something! LOL And it's pretty darn good for a live recording, too.
Link is good for 7 days. Enjoy. :)
