A Deep Snow

Above left is how our driveway looked this morning as I stood in the garage, contemplating the trip to get the newspaper. We got about a foot of snow overnight. Above right is the path I shoveled clear so I could get the paper.

Here's the view looking back at the house from the street, and the box where our paper is left. Now we could have breakfast!

Once I'd had breakfast, I finished clearing the driveway, shown here. That's pretty much how the driveway looked yesterday too, before the snow.

Here's the pathway from our front door, before and after shoveling. I can feel all my muscles now! And I feel old.

Dead flowers capped with snow. The snow looks like flower buds.

My labors complete, I can now contemplate our front yard from the comfort of our living room.

Picnic anyone?

A small windmill in the backyard.

My hat, after I'd knocked most of the snow off of it. The sad thing is, it was snowing as I was shoveling, and tomorrow morning I'll need to do it all over again. I feel like Sisyphus.

You should get yourself an innertube and shovel the drive with that. :)

Lots of snow! Wow!

That's a lot of work to get the paper. Can't you get the paper guy to toss the paper on your porch?

Pretty cool. I woundn't mind a big blast like that (as long as I was home at the time).

I've often thought it'd be cool to build a long ramp from the backyard to the front and pour water on it to make a frozen slide. :)
