850 Words of Basic English

In 1930, Charles K. Ogden released a list of 850 words that he felt were a basic set of words to handle the majority of everyday communications. Master those words and the grammar to use them, and you know Basic English.

I think I can narrow it down even further, there are some things in there I could happily go on without ever saying..!

Now, I wonder how many words make up the Ogden Ebonic Basics...

Well I just don't get it, Dave. I've read Mr. Ogden's article five times now and it just doesn't make any sense at all. Personally, I think the man must have been a bit thick.
