One to Beam Up
Every parent dreads a call from their child's school. Fortunately, Debbie was never suspended from school for anything. Unlike the child whose mother writes Beauty Dish, where she describes his suspension for pledging allegiance to the United Federation of Planets. Now that's something I would have done!
And don't miss her Love Letter to Star Trek. I am not alone.

First I laughed and then got angry. Thankfully the kid's mom has a decent sense of humor. That principal needs to retire before she does anymore harm. Kids should be allowed to be silly (and adults too) ;)
Just curious, Dave. Do you really have a Starfleet uniform and if so, what version?
No, I don't have a Starfleet uniform.
Well, to tell the truth, I have, if I recall correctly, two or three uniforms, of the Star Trek: The Next Generation vintage. Plus some scraps from an actual uniform used in the show, complete with stage blood, that a friend of a friend recovered from an episode involving a mishap to an away party. And I have a communicator badge that makes the tweedle sound when you tap it.
What can I say? I'm a geek. ;)
I've been reading several posts from Beauty Dish. That lady can write!
I ordered a mug from her CafePress store with 8's pledge of allegiance on it. (I've heard that their shirts have a tendency to fade.)
I wanted to do something to help Birdie out.
I once took care of a patient who helped make the little gadget props for "The Next Generation". Rather than the usual chocolates, I would have loved to have been given a transponder or phaser. No, you are not alone. ;)
Oops. I meant tricorder. It's funny how you wake up in the middle of the night and think of things. :)
