I Dunno
Our house has two water faucets outside: one in front and one in back. They have an odd silver thing on top, behind the valve. I wanted to go to the hardware store to ask what the silver thing was, but I couldn't easily take the faucet with me. What's a guy to do?
I took its picture. Digital cameras rock! I took the camera to the store and brought up the picture on my camera. Mr. Hardware was able to instantly know what I was talking about and explain it.
The silver thing lets air and water escape when the pressure in the water line gets too high... like in winter if the pipes freeze up. We never had that problem in Marin County.
I need to remember that trick with the camera the next time I have a question about something non-portable. You learn something every day. Especially if you can admit you don't know something. People who can't admit they don't know something tend to know less than people who can admit they know less. Isn't that ironic?
I'm thinking of adding the initials M.D. after my name. That stands for, "Me dunno!"

that's funny and it's true about people who say that they know everything but infact they don't. By the way, did you receive my email reply ?
Got your reply. I'll take a look at adding smilies to comments when I get a chance. Maybe this weekend, maybe later. :)
As an optician, I found that trick worked nicely for people who were trying on glasses and wanted to know what they looked like in them. Lots of uses for them.
oh thank you very much!
