A Fine Line

I read today about a Fox News Crew Shot At in Gaza after revealing detailed information about Israeli troop movement in a live report. There were no facts regarding who fired the shots, but speculation was rife that it was the Israelis. Nobody was hurt, and they could have been warning shots.

Now, I believe in freedom of the press. I enjoy having access to information on what's happening in the world. But I think you have to draw the line at reporting information that can endanger troops.

It's also not safe for the reporters. A press pass doesn't make reporters invulnerable, nor does it deter troops from shooting at them, especially if it's suspected the reporter is endangering the troops or spying for the other side.

Are there any clear answers here? I'm all for getting the news, but aren't there times when certain news should not be reported?
