A Trip to The Shire
Last weekend we cruised past The Shire of Bend, a new housing development, and were pleased to see they were having an open house. Photo op! 
What's that? A round door? Yes, it does feel like we're in Hobbiton. Sadly, no hobbits were in attendance. What's behind the door? I didn't look. I don't think it's for humans.
The home below looks more human sized. I like the thatched roof appearance. More photos, in higher resolution, can be found at my Shire photoset on Flickr. Check it out for a peek inside.
I looked for a gold ring, but I didn't find any.

What are the roofs made of? I hope that it's nothing as flammable as real thatch.
The landscaping is nice except for the hand coming out of the ground. Did someone get buried alive and is digging their way out or is that someone's idea of an ash tray?
I doubt it's real thatch.
It appeared to be a cement hand. So maybe there's an entire statue under there. Indian burial ground, maybe? :)
