$250 HD DVD Player!

We were at Costco tonight and they had the Toshiba HD-D2 high definition DVD player on sale for $250! Wasn't too long ago you had to spend $500 or more to get a high-def DVD player. Toshiba is having a Father's Day sale featuring $100 off their HD DVD prices. Of course, you need a high-definition TV to see the benefits of this DVD player, and while you can view standard DVD's with it, it's the HD DVD's that give you the bang for the buck.

I hope this sale gives Sony a big hurt in their Blu-Ray line.

You've been able to get HD-DVD for about $250 for a while now in the form of the xbox 360 HD-DVD drive that plugs into TVs and PCs just fine. But it's nice that Toshiba's making it main stream, as I really hate Sony.
