Happy Happy Dim Sum

As you may recall, our last dim sum hunt ended unsuccessfully, albeit tastily. Yesterday we tried again.

We were seated quickly, and our order taken promptly. Connie asked about the dim sum, and was given a menu with pictures of dim sum. And naught else. No prices, no descriptions. We asked what we were looking at, and were told what each item was. They were all the same price, $3.25.

Connie made two selections. Above is the first one. These puffs were golden, beautiful and perfectly shaped. The pastry was light, crisp and sweet, possibly sweetened with honey. They were filled with barbecue pork, and were delicious. If there was such as thing as barbecue pork baklava, that would describe somewhat the taste of this dish.

Connie's second selection, pictured above, were like steamed white bread balls with a sweet filling, a paste of some kind, I think.

I was in the mood for a more traditional dish, and chose the Chicken with Broccoli pictured above. The egg roll was crisp and tasty. The chicken and broccoli were tasty. The rice would have been better with scrambled egg and diced carrots, but was good otherwise.

Our meal came quickly, while I was still working on my hot and sour soup. Service is quick and friendly.

Next time, we'll probably both order dim sum, so we have more dishes to share. Barbecue pork. mmmmmmm

I feel sorry for Connie. Her dinner was all white and beige and yours was so colorful and appetizing looking. Does dim sum ever include vegetable dishes?

LOL But Connie's tasted pretty!

There were several vegetarian dishes.

Connie had some of my plate as well. It's one of the few times we didn't have leftovers from Chinese food.
