Random News

I don't yet have a new job, but I'm working on a small project for a local company that will hopefully evolve into full-time employment.

Last night we attended a going-away party for a great neighbor who's moving out of state. The hostess at the party made cream puffs. Can you believe that? And they were better than ours. I think the only difference is that she cooked them at a lower temperature for a longer time. We're going to try that and see if that's the trick. And... she made a topping of chocolate ganache... and... we watched her make an eclair filling from custard, cream, powdered sugar, vanilla and a little cornstarch. Yummm! We'll post a recipe once we've tried that.

I'm thinking one of these days we should have a cooking night where we have foody people over and we cook while they're here.

I'm mad at Toyota. They charged me more for service than what I signed for, and didn't ask first. hmph.

It snowed on us today.

On a TV show tonight a Texas boy was having dinner and said, "What salad means to me is... meat's next!" LOL

I've put up some new photo sets on Flickr from recent outings (best viewed as slideshows):

Bend Poetry Slam from a couple weeks ago.

Person People performance Thursday night.

Bellydance Hafla from last night.

Life is good.

Shannon suggested a progressive dinner some time. That would be fun but our homes are a little spread out... maybe we need to start a dinner club, and rotate between homes?

Either one sounds like fun!

And what is this local project? Email me privately, if need be.

I like the idea of rotating homes.

Don't you owe me lunch, Jake? :)

You know, I think I do -- I honestly can't remember. Should I bring McDonalds? ;-)

Seriously, though, email me -- I'm open this week.
