That sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I agree. sorry to hear of his loss.
Thanks, Jake. Thank you, Lyle.
Hug your families.
Oh crap, Dave. I'm so sorry. :(
I'm so sorry. My hear goes out to him and you.
Long after talking with you and Connie last night, I just couldn't get your dad's situation off my mind.
I must have fallen asleep thinking about various parts of our phone conversation and combined it with the continuing firestorm footage on the local news, not to mention my recent photo shoot at the LA Zoo. The mixture created some very bizarre nightmares. (Rusty told me that I kept crying out while kicking him in my sleep.)
There were elephants, tigers, jaguars, penguins and other frightened zoo animals running loose in the streets while we (Rusty, Tess, Selene and I) tried to evacuate our house. Even now, I can still see the images of the fire racing toward us in Zorro-style flames and the heavy clouds of smoke surrounding us.
In my case, I was so thankful to wake up and know that it was just a nightmare.
I only wish that your dad was not facing such a harsh reality and that he, too, could wake up from his nightmare.
Thanks, LT. I just saw on the news that the destruction of the mobile home park took only about 20 minutes. It was a firestorm.
I see that the fire isn't far now from your own home, Melissa. May your house and dogs stay safe.
Thanks, Candace, and thanks for your offers of help. My dad's been going through trying times, and I fear the near future holds more of the same.
Glad to hear your dad is safe. Very sorry to hear of the loss of his home. Our thoughts are with you.
Thanks, Alan.
I haven't seen your dad in more than 35 years...(haven't seen any of you guys in close to that long)
Please tell him I said g'day and I'm really glad he's OK physically. If there's anything I can do (I have a spare room here in Sydney), let me know!
Thanks, Charles. And if you're ever in Oregon, we have a guest room too. :)
We have friends and family in other parts of Australia as well, but it seems like a really long drive.
Driving does beat walking it...take a step, come up for air...take another step, come up for air...
But you could always try one of those Rinspeed cars like Splash or Squba
