Oh, Deer
It reached 80 degrees here today. Fortunately, the house stayed a cool 65 inside.
We've had a new visitor: a small ruby-throated hummingbird has been coming to sip from our feeder. Also, we have a small brown frog who's been hanging out under the Japanese lantern and our little bridge, which makes his croak really resonant.
Tonight we received an unexpected phone call from our neighbor, Karen.
"Hello?"
"Hi, this is your neighbor, Karen." See!
"Hi, Karen!"
"You have six or seven deer about to walk through your backyard. They just went past my house."
"Thanks!"
We rushed to the window, and sure enough, there were a half dozen large deer moseying through our backyard. Ringo, our big brave cat, peered around the corner of the kitchen cabinets to watch. After they'd continued on to the next neighbor, he went to the window to stand guard. He's pretty brave once a threat has disappeared.

Awwwwwwww, how lovely :o)
It's amazing how the mind sometimes works, incorporating the words from one part of a sentence into the next.
Hence, it was that this sentence:
"You have six or seven deer about to walk through your backyard. They just went past my house."
...became this sentence:
"You have six or seven deer about to walk through your backyard. They just walked through my house."
And here I was so looking forward to you telling us about the deer walking through your house after they finished exploring your backyard.
LOL! That's funny. In another post, Melissa misread me and thought I was searching for a peehole.
I must be mumbling my posts. I'll try to type more clearly. ;)
