Makes perfect sense to me. Don't you hate stupid people or even worse, people who think that you're stupid?
Nobody calls me an idiot more than I do. ;)
I don't hate stupid people. They amuse me. Everyone's stupid one way or another.
The quote above is from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Matthew Perry, who makes fun of the religious right, says it to the Christian actress on his team. I love that show. I hope it starts to do better in the ratings. Aaron Sorkin's a genius.
Yeah, good dialog and I'm a lot more inclined to watch a comedy after a hard day.
I hope the show is given a chance.
You and me both.
Recently, someone involved in the TV industry told me that Studio 60 is being given the axe (soon to be cancelled, done deal, end of story). Apparently, it's considered too highbrow, doesn't have enough viewers and is getting poor ratings.
Well, excuse me, Mr./Ms. TV Executive, but highbrow happens to be just fine by me. Plus, no one asked me for my opinion or my vote on the matter.
Yes, I admit it. I'm guilty. I happen to enjoy being entertained in an intelligent manner rather than treated as if I'm too stupid to even tie my own shoelaces.
I've heard rumors to that effect, Candace, and I've been in denial, hoping it's not true. It's kind of ironic, an intelligent show about an intelligent show that's threatened by its network being threatened by its network. Wish I knew who your contact was. ;)
This just in:
TV Guide says that a whole season of Studio 60 has been ordered, despite rumors of its cancellation. Woot!
