S'up?
I guess it's been a while since I posted anything. It's because of the writer's strike. I'm showing my solidarity. Yeah, that's it. Or not.
Actually, I've just been busy with work and shoveling snow and stuff. Also, I got a notice from my web host that the web site was expected to exceed its traffic quota, so I took measures to reduce traffic, which included fewer postings. After studying the web logs, it turned out that some bulletin board software I'd installed but never linked to had been discovered by scumbag spammers and it was eating up all the traffic. So I disabled it and my traffic dropped back to normal. If that had happened to someone else I'd probably feel smug and superior, because I usually guard against that sort of thing. This time I was relying on "security by obscurity" and it bit me on the ass. I feel stupid.
In other news, the Deschutes County Sheriffs Department gave a Concealed Handgun License class that teaches firearm safety and what it takes to obtain the license. I know someone who attended it, and he said there was a postal worker in the class. Should I be scared?

Is it Blogger that has a traffic quota? Does that mean you can only get so many hits before they yank your blog?
No, it's not Blogger, it's my web host. Instead of publishing to blogspot.com I publish to my own web site so I can have my blog and my web site on the same server. You don't have to worry about traffic limits on your own blog. :)
