Spring Paddle Festival

Can you canoe? I've canoed, but I've never kayaked, and since we live by the Deschutes River, I keep wanting to try it. Fortuitously, there is a free Spring Paddle Festival at Alder Creek in Bend, where you can attend free clinics, demonstrations, and test paddle their kayaks and canoes. Unfortuitously (is that a word?), I won't be able to make it. Fooey!
