Rim Shot

My doumbek had an annoying buzz. Every time I hit the dum (the bass tone), it would buzz. I took the head off and put it back on (scary) and it became worse. So today I tried tightening the head (scarier), which has a side benefit of producing higher tek and ka sounds. That fixed it! (So much for getting to buy a fancier doumbek.)

I told Connie I'd fixed it, and my quick-witted wife replied, "That must have been a buzz-kill!"
