The Immortals

I had dinner tonight (BBQ) with this motley crew. Well, not the dog. He stayed outside, begging for bones.

The two gentlemen are both software engineers. During the course of the meal, Mr. Right (on the right), mentioned that he was of Scottish descent, and somehow got onto the topic that someone might be of a specific clan, but not have the same name as the clan, and it reminded me of Highlander, the movie and TV series.

That reminded me of the line that was so often repeated on Highlander, "I am [blank] McCleod, of the clan McCleod." Only I couldn't remember McCleod's first name. (Senility, here I come.) So we're sitting there trying to remember the name (Sean? Seamus? Patrick?) and then Mr. Left's wife pipes up, "Duncan! It's Duncan McCleod of the clan McCleod."

Three computer guys, and it's the lovely blonde who Googles the answer on her cellphone. I'm so embarassed.

How cool that you all met. I'm jealous.

By the way, what is MacKenzie doing there? She didn't mention that she was going to Seattle.

Seems like you always need a cute blue-eyed blonde to help you remember things :)

Someone suggested the name might be Gavin, and I replied, "I'm pretty sure Gavin McCleod was an actor on Love Boat." Now I'm dating myself. :)
