Irony

My stepmother's been in a convalescent home for several years now, victim of a bad batch of L-Tryptophan made by a Japanese petrochemical company and sold by health food stores nationwide. Yet another reason I don't trust health food stores and unnatural supplements.

My dad's housekeeping habits are less than stellar, so this past year my stepsister helped him go through his things. Dad grew up during the Great Depression, so it's hard for him to let things go. He didn't want to throw things away that he might possibly use someday. He did let her take home some photographs to put in a photo album for him.

As mentioned previously, my dad lost him home in the Sylmar fire this past weekend. The house burned to the ground.

The things my dad wouldn't let go, he has lost. Those things he let go of, he still has. Another of life's ironies.
