My Secret Bewitched Life

There was a time when my favorite televison shows were the Addams Family, Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie.

I'm not that fond of Nicole Kidman as an actress, but I loved her in Practical Magic. I've always had a soft spot for tales of good witches. I'm looking forward to seeing her as another witch in Bewitched. Especially since I have a distant connection to the show.

My father's father's sister's husband's brother was Sol Saks. Sol's father owned a paint store in Chicago, and promised a paint store to each of his sons. Two of his sons did go into the paint business, but not Sol. Sol Saks went to school and studied literature, and wrote short stories, and then longer stories, and began comedy writing. Eventually, at CBS, he created the television show Bewitched.

I've never met Sol, but I'd like to. Maybe he could teach me that nose thing.

I liked those shows too. Wouldn't it be nice if a witch's powers could be obtained by learning to wiggle your nose? I'm not sure off hand what I would do with my powers, but I do know that I would not be going to work today. :)

By the way, my dogs got very upset over the nose wiggling sound. I have new scratches on my legs.

I always loved the original Bewitched series, and Elizabeth Montgomery (well, until she did that Lizzie Bordon movie).

Everytime I see the previews, I'm amazed at how closely Nicole Kidman resembles Elizabeth. I think it's the eyebrows and the blonde hair.

I saw the previews for it yesterday whilst waiting for Batman to start. I'm no fan of Kidman's, except the Stepford Wives, but Bewitched looks quite funny.

Sadly, I've heard lots of bad things about the movie. Guess I'll wait until it's on DVD. Anyone seen it and liked it?

I agree, Lisa, Kidman does look like Montgomery.

I saw a trailer for it yesterday that mentioned Uncle Arthur, and I realized that he was my favorite character on the show, even more than Samantha. I really miss Paul Lynde. I think some of my snarkiness was inspired by him.

Snarky? I never noticed that. When did you become snarky? :)
