BOGO Gaga
Last night I made deep-fried artichoke hearts. I knew you basically dipped them in flour, then an egg wash, then breadcrumbs, but I was a little hazy on the egg wash bit. A quick trip to Google and I had a recipe. How did we ever live before the Internet? They turned out great.
For dessert we had strawberry shortcake. You see, the market had a sale, buy one thing of strawberries, get one free. Connie goes gaga for BOGOs. A little whipped cream, and a white cake she made, and we were set.
I really need to start hiking and biking again soon.

I love strawberry shortcakes . . . one of my fav desserts! And I love artichokes, but I've never had them fried! What do you serve with them? Not that I'll be trying them anytime soon, but maybe after I reach my goal weight. LOL! But hey, I can live vicariously!
Deep-fried artichoke hearts are served as an appetizer, generally with a Ranch dip or lemon butter. I don't like creamy dips, so I just mixed lemon juice and a little melted butter. mmmmmm!
When I make artichokes I sprinkle Italian herbs inside with some vinegar, then steam them and eat them with butter.
Let's see, there is all of this snow on the ground for a good part of the year, making it difficult to hike or bike. How can one possibly get any exercise? Oh! I know. Get some cross-country skis. It's as easy as walking and much more fun. (What a shame that perfectly good snow is wasted on some people.) :)
That shortcake sounds yummy. I like it with biscuits or angel food cake, too.
Leesa, that's how I like shortcake too and with vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream.
LOL! Maybe next year, Melissa. :)
Google my arse.
Will that work? ;)
