High Desert?
According to the dictionary, a desert is a region receiving less than ten inches of rain a year. This part of Oregon is referred to as the "High Desert" because of its altitude. My house is over 4,000 feet above sea level.
Since we've been here, however, it seems like every day has brought either rain or snow. Today it reached sixty degrees for the first time, and it was sunny and blue, but it also rained.
What will they call this area if it gets more than ten inches of rain? I guess we live in the High Something.

Do you really get less than 10 inches of rain a year? It sounds to me like you live in a high rainforest. Are they counting snow as precipitation? :)
Do you live by Portland? I'm thinking about visiting Portland and wondering what's it like out west.
I don't know, Melissa. I haven't been able to find the actual rainfall numbers for here. I'll keep looking.
Portland is a few hours from here, mosta. Let me know what you think of it.
