I Love Klingons

I love Worf on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Although raised by humans, he's still a Klingon. Like all Klingons, he believes in fixing problems by firing phasers. In any situation, you can pretty much count on Worf to suggest that the best course of action is to attack. He's unabashedly Klingon, unrepentent about his views. He doesn't pull punches just because he's among humans. He's true to himself.

Characters like that are so funny. All it takes is a character with beliefs that are at odds with what's "politically correct" and a personality that doesn't apologize for being the way it is.

Like Joey on Friends. He's a womanizer, and proud of it. If someone's hot and wears a skirt, you can count on Joey to sidle up to her and offer his best (and only) pickup line: "How you doin'?" What a crack-up.

Characters like this are usually somewhat two-dimensional, so you don't see them as a main character. They're sidekicks.

That would probably be me. Like Marshall on Alias, I'd be the sidekick geek. I'm a nerd, and I'm proud of it.
