Goodman's Gift Guide

Stuck for gift ideas? Here are some items that may be just what you need.

For your guys:

In Target's camping section I picked up a keychain flashlight by Eddie Bauer for about twelve bucks that has a really, really bright LED. You'll lose the flashlight before the LED burns out, and the batteries should last a long time with occasional use.

Radio Shack has a remote control BladeRunner Rescue Helicopter for $39 that's just amazing. If you can operate an RC car you can fly this helicopter. You can fly it all around the house and terrorize the cat. For thirty bucks more you can get the Micro Mosquito helicopter that's smaller and cooler and more maneuverable. These are a blast to fly.

I've mentioned before how much I like our Garmin i3 StreetPilot GPS. They've dropped in price. For another cool Garmin gadget, check out the Garmin Rino 120. Recently I picked one up on eBay for less than $200. The Rino 120 is a combination walkie-talkie and GPS that's simply amazing. In addition to your typical walkie-talkie functions, you can send text messages to other Rino owners, or send your GPS location or track where your friends are. You can load street maps into it, play games, or find your way. The GPS works great. I can get a lock even indoors. If I got lost in the snow, this unit could find my way out, or let rescuers know where I was, and let me talk to them. We have friends who use walkie-talkies so they can find each other when shopping. The Rino can make it even easier.

Finally, you can give as many months as you want of a Netflix subscription. We love us our Netflix. We get not just movies, but TV shows, concerts and instructional videos. Beats Blockbuster any day!

For your gals:

Beats me. Who knows what women want?

The Netflix is a great idea! Thanks for that. As far as what we women want...hmmm... to spend a day with Patrick McDermott? A backstage pass to an Aerosmith concert? A house makeover with Ty (from Extreme Makeover)?

Poor Ringo. Some day he's going to get back at you. You have to sleep sometime.

Ringo (our cat) knows who feeds him. He'll be seeking no revenge, if he knows what's good for him. :)

Interesting ideas, Live on the Fly. I was afraid it would be something hard. ;)
