On the Border?
I see in the local classifieds that there's an On the Border restaurant coming soon to Bend. Anyone ever eat at one? How is it? There can never be too many Mexican restaurants.

I never have but my aunt who lives in Kansas LOVES that place.
They have Mexican food in Kansas?
I remember visiting Chicago and Atlanta and having trouble finding good Mexican food. Never been to Kansas, though. Some day I'd like to travel more... :)
It's a Mexican chain restaurant, and the food is exactly what you should expect (read: pedestrian). There are plenty of local privately owned Mexican restaurants that are way better.
My first job as a waitress was at an On the Border--granted, it was over 5 years ago, but I remember they had great margaritas and homemade salsa. I agree with Little Things--there are probably mom and pop places with better fare, but it's good stuff in a pinch. Let us know what you think when you try it!
