Another Scary Privacy Invader

Go to Zillow.com and type in an address (I bet you put in yours), and if you're in the United States the odds are good that it will bring up a map with that address marked, and a box that shows information about that property, and prices for that property and the neighbor properties. Scary.

That was fun to play with, but not terrible accurate. Home prices are higher than indicated. It was off $50,000 on my house and $2oo,ooo off on my previous house. Is it looking at Assessor's Office values rather than current sales?

It looks at the most recent figures it has, and guesses what the price would be today based on a variety of factors.

Wow. That's pretty darn close. Amazin' stuff. Amazing that it knows the neighbors homes both higher and lower.
