Where's That From?

Flickr has a great new feature: Geotagging. Now you can see on a map what pictures are available for that area, or see where on a map a particular picture was taken (for only those photos that have been geotagged). Kewlness!

There was a comment left here from Eduardo at Panoramio, but I deleted it. Their site has no privacy policy that I could see, and they may charge money for their service in the future. If he had written me asking me to mention them, I probably would have, but I think it's rude for them to go leaving comments advertising and linking to their own site everywhere someone mentions a competitor. Am I wrong in thinking this is rude?

It's rude and very tacky. I would have deleted them as well.

Why are you able to delete comments without it showing that you did so? Blogger will say that I deleted it.

Blogger won't snitch if you slip it a $20.

No, wait, that's something else.

Actually, when you delete a comment there's a checkbox under the Delete button labelled "Remove forever? (It can't be undone.)" and if you check that then the comment is gone completely. If you've already deleted a comment and click the trash can, then you get another opportunity to remove it forever.

That'll be twenty bucks. ;)

I thought that meant the person would never be allowed to leave a comment on the blog again. Thanks for clearing that up.

The check's in the mail. :)
