Criminal Evidence?

If someone sends you copyright material, isn't that a crime? And isn't it a crime to destroy evidence of a crime? You're not required to report crimes, as far as I know, but you're not allowed to destroy evidence of one, either. So basically, if someone sent you copyrighted material, don't you have to keep it? Just wondering.

Oh I forgot to mention I am a apprentice copyWRIGHT. I copy therefore I am. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Oh wait that will make everybodies work flat. Bah...go copyright!

Copyright infringement, as far as I know, is only a civil action. Destroying evidence in a civil action, as far as I know, is not a crime. Delete to your heart's content. (Disclaimer: I am not giving legal advice, so proceed with caution.)

Right, mosta. ;)

Only civil? The threat-screens that come on before the movie on DVDs often threaten federal criminal action. But then, who trusts Hollywood? :)

Ever come out to Oregon, Dana? Or California? I don't foresee us getting out your way for quite some time.
