Kudos and Curses

Kudos

Kudos to McMenamin's Restaurant, where we ate tonight. My Jamaican jerk chicken was great, Debbie's ahi tuna sandwich was "awesome" and Connie's garden burger was "really good". The tiramisu we had for dessert was light, rich and melted in your mouth. The decor was beautiful, the music was perfect and the service was excellent.

Kudos to Quizno's for their Smokehouse Beef Brisket sandwich, that I had before the movie today. The beef was tender, the bread was warm and fresh, the sauce was sweet and smoky. Yumm.

We saw The Devil Wears Prada, and I was surprised to find I enjoyed it a lot. Anne Hathaway. Yumm. Stanley Tucci. ha ha ha!

Kudos to Jane at GemmaK for hanging in there when things got tough. We're pulling for you, Jane.

Kudos to Melissa at Misadventurous Melissa for healing the sick.

Kudos to Michelle at The Lady Justitia for protecting children.

Kudos to Doug Brutsch of Three Sisters Electric, who installed outlets for my pond and heat pump, and installed a ceiling fan. He was friendly, affordable and a fine workman.

Kudos to Ken Dodson, who put up the stone facing on our garage. He was likewise friendly, affordable and a fine craftsman. What's also nice is that Doug and Ken actually showed up and did the work, which is more than I can say for some of the other people I've contacted.

And, finally, kudos to the speeder who stopped to help the trooper who was chasing him. A man after my own heart.

There are more people deserving kudos than I have time or space for. Keep up the good work anyway. I hope to get to you next time.

Curses

Life is too short. I'm not going to waste my time on this tonight.

Thanks for remembering me.

Kudos to you for convincing me to get a blog. My blog exists solely because of your encouragement.

Kudos to both you and Connie on your successful 25 year marriage. Why don't you do a post on the secret to a happy marriage?

God, do I feel old. When you mentioned Ms. Hathaway, Alan, the first thing that came to mind was the bank manager's assistant on the old Beverly Hillbillies TV show. :)

Thanks for the kudos, Melissa. I think maybe I will do a post on tips for a happy marriage. In the meantime, this joke reveals a lot:

Drunk, Bob wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in a perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love you."

He goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table eating. Bob asks, "Son, what happened last night?"

His son says, “Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and delirious. Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door."

Confused, Bob asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?"

His son replies, "Oh that. Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off you said, 'Lady leave me alone, I’m married.'"

LOL

A restaurant that serves jerk chicken, ahi tuna, garden burgers and tiramisu? It is either a myth, a joke, or a precarious balance...

I remember good service. Now that I live in London, I just say to the "server" ("wait staff" is a better term, because all you do is wait), "Um, here is our money and thank you for not clocking me on the head for asking for a glass of water."

Anne Hathaway has those big lips everyone likes. Someday they'll start pondering whether she blows fat in them. I prefer Stanley Tucci.

Come visit me, if you are bored and need something to read.

LOL Nice photography on your blog, Ebeth. Do people tip the "wait staff" for good service and withhold tips for bad service in London?
