A Hot One

Last week it was freezing. Literally. (At night, anyway.) Yesterday it was over 90 degrees.

After lunch I still had some time before an appointment in Bend, so I headed to Drake Park on the Deschutes River. My plan was to sit by the river with my didge and a flute and play for a bit until it was two o'clock.

Instead I happened upon a group of people gathered by the slackline pictured above. Heather (above) and Grace (not pictured) were taking turns walking barefoot along the slackline. I tried it, but I'm too unbalanced to stay up, so instead I played didge and flute for the better co-ordinated. (I have a new agave didge made by Tyler Spencer. It's awesome.)

I love Drake Park. When the drum circle plays there, I can drum and watch people dancing, juggling, rolling down hills, playing with kids and dogs, spinning unlit fire-staffs and walking slacklines. We all entertain each other. Is there anything better?

It feels good to be warm. It's about time that you got your turn at some nice weather.

You betcha. We just lost the last of the snow in the backyard about a week or so ago. The poor daffodils were poking up from the snow and still blooming.

It'll be great to be able to hang around outside again. I've even ridden my bike twice this week. The first day was fine. I think everything was still in shock. "Hey, we're biking again!" Then the next day it was more like, "You gotta be kidding me. You're bicycling again? Seriously?" To which I just have to say, "Get over it." :)

SlackLining? Never heard of it, looks interesting. I have to look for some videos of it.
